Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 in the home of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. She is the Robertses' fourth generation that reside in the Atlanta region beginning by her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in theatre from an early age. As studying at Emory University, he performed at several shows in Atlanta. He joined the Air Force in the year 1953. While located in Biloxi Mississippi, was a part of an military production starring Betty Lou Bredemus who was as well in the air force. In 1955, the couple tied the knot and, in 1956, their child Eric Anthony was born. The couple divorced in 1957. the Air Force and Walter began his studies at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter started working at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. In 1964, Walter together with Betty Lou began production on an on-sunday morning local children's television show called Bum Bum and His Buddies that they funded themselves. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it took six years to complete. They welcomed in 1965 two young children, Lelisa Billingsley as well as Julia Billingsley.
