Thunberg decided to take decisive action in August of 2018. She remained in the Swedish parliament, walked out of classes and sat on a banner with the words "School Strike For Climate". The idea was to attract the attention of the politicians and encourage them to intervene to stop the global warming. Swedish media picked up on Thunbergs strike and news of her protest spread. Following the strike many students across the globe joined Thunberg's #FridaysforFuture movements. Students took Friday off to demonstrate against climate change. Global climate activists came together in the year 2019 to organize for the Global Strike for Climate. It was hugely successful; over 1.6million people from over 100 countries participated.

Nia Peeples was born as Virenia Gwendolyn is an American performer and actress.
